Intimate Paradox, Solo Show at Blue Raven

I’m really looking forward to this show at the Blue Raven Gallery in Rockland Maine. The show runs from September 3 to 30th and I will give an artist talk on September 21 at 5:30PM.

This exhibition marks a welcome return to coastal Maine, where, decades ago, I led Outward Bound trips from Hurricane Island in Penobscot Bay. About the tiltle: my meditation practice and interest in image-based psychology have cultivated a love of paradox. Intimate is a reference to those french painters I love…Bonnard and Vullard in particular.

My sketchbooks will also be on display, providing an intimate glimpse into my creative process. The exhibition traces a journey from initial sketches of everyday, personal moments to small paintings where ideas take shape, culminating in large canvases where compositions come into full focus.
